Frequently Asked Questions

1. My vo!ume requirements are too small to source in China.

It's true that many businesses find Chinese manufacturers are only interested in high volume products. However, BI is a UK owned company with a wholly owned factory in China. We are not driven by vo!ume like many Chinese owned businesses. Current customers have an annual demand for products as low as 500 pieces.

2. I don't speak the language or have contacts in China?

We do. The plant in Longgang has teams of Quality Engineers, Project Managers and Buyers who are well versed in matching the requirements of UK companies. You can liaise with your UK contact within BI in the same language, in the same time zone and leave the rest to the team in China. Visits are always welcome and we can organize these trips to include not only the Longgang factory but also key suppliers to allow you to corroborate their quality standards.

3.The prospect of importing goods and dealing with Duty Tariffs and overseas customs is an added job we don’t want.

You don’t have to. BI ships products and parts to the UK, Ireland, Norway, Italy, France, South Africa – we can handle all freight and duty from our door to your door.

4. I don’t know if parts procurement of full assembly is the best route for my company?

Most BI customers have the same dilemma. We always advise that procurement costing for parts be the first step with any exploration of China sourcing. Once the material savings are visible you can then decide whether or not to explore sub-assembly or full assembly options. The range of options remains open.

5. I’m wary of paying for goods before they leave China. How do I know they will be right?

First, the production and quality assurance procedures will be written and approved by you. Additionally AQL inspection can be added if required. Second, you don’t pay when the goods leave China.

Unlike many outsourcing organizations and agents we will ship your parts to the UK and warehouse them in our Distribution centre in Coventry. When they are called off we will invoice you. All we ask is an annual volume commitment from you.
